my heart

the past two years have carried a different air to thanksgiving time for me. big daddy and i were blessed to be able to travel to Isreal for 10 days over thanksgiving time in 2006. oh my!!
i had never had this huge desire to travel there (i do not know why), but big daddy always had. and i am so thankful he had that desire, b/c it was the trip of my life time. i miss Isreal so much and can honestly say that i could live there (or Kuai, Hawaii) with my man.

(here we are on top of Mount of Olives with Jerusalem behind us)
i thought i would share a few pics with you b/c this is where my heart is. i can think upon the trip and feel like i am back in Isreal. you go from place to place with your bible and journal in hand, and your mind continually thinking upon Jesus and how real He was yesterday and is today. (i was so challenged with the reality that this is how we should be living everyday as Christians. i keep working on it!)

(our tour guide, Moshe, who wanted to be as tall as us)
(floating in the Dead Sea. can u find us. i promise we have no floats under us)
(Sea of Galilee)
(hilarious. we rode a camel in the midst of the Bedowin Tribes and the Judean Wilderness. the camel was very mad at big daddy at the end and would not let us get off!)
(big daddy climbing the Aquedect running from Mount Carmel to Ceasarea)
(i was so thankful for these two girls. it gave me some girl power on the trip while big daddy had some guys for guy power.)
(i saved the best part for last. first is Golgatha. this is the most likely site, on top of the mountain, for Jesus' crucifixion. can you see the skull in the mountain?)

(and this the Garden Tomb, the place most Christians claim to be the burial and resurcetion site of Jesus Christ. the Catholics have their own site in the city that they believe in. we got to see both, and i have to say that there is a feeling you get at both sites. and the Garden Tomb is amazing and my choice. i believe!)
(this is the sign inside the tomb on the door. we got to enter the tomb. wow) (and i just love this picture outside the tomb. we had just had a devotion and prayer time with communion. a heavenly experience to amidst all this history.)

i pray the Lord blesses you all this holiday season.
i have tons more pics if you ever want to see them from Isreal.
happy thanksgiving.

wow! What a neat trip! My grandparents visited there many times and they would always come back and show us slides (it was a long time ago!) and as a little girl, I was less than thrilled to sit and look at those pictures! Now I know I would appreciate them so much! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your boys!
