thanksgiving: round 1

we spent this weekend in the mountains celebrating thanksgiving with my side of the family. beautiful weather, but a bit chilly for my flesh and bones.
aj had much fun walking around and playing with my cousins. and he discovered the Christmas tree full of ornaments. oh my!

pluck. pluck. for each ornament.poor sweet santa.
we have a family tradition of shooting misteltoe out of the tree. i do not know if you see the clump, but there it is in the tree on the right side.

everyone takes turns shooting at the branch till it falls to the ground.
but, the branch got stuck this year, and lauren went climbing for the branch.

lauren was successful and sent the branch flying down to hit big daddy in the back of the head. poor guy. he was fine, after all, he had been feeling very masculine with one of the guns.success.
however, we were not successful in the family picture taking area. little boy was too ready to play.
at least i got to squeeze my man alot.
(no worries. little boy was only out to find the mistletoe and then back inside he went. no guns with him.)

I love that family tradition, Erin! How cool!
Believe it or not, I never knew that those clumps of green in the oak trees were mistletoe - Chad finally enlightened me about 2 winter's ago.
You're probably much more of mistletoe expert than I.
Great pictures, Love!
Happy Thanksgiving to the Cantrells with Love!!
